Even the Government Accountability Office (GAO) has expressed skepticism about their ability to safeguard the community as advertised. I respectfully ask that the you support Rep. David Simpson's HB 1937 legislation, which bans government agents of any kind from using a patdown as a search method without probable cause. Furthermore, it is imperative that the Senate also pass legislation that bans the full-body scanners from Texas. Not only are they ineffective, they also pose a major health risk to every person scanned. Please support HB 1938, which bans these scanners, in any way that you can.
